In January 2006, HIP's Board, Leadership Council and Strategic Planning Committee met in Oaxaca, Mexico.  We have posted two papers which were presented during the meetings, "From Potential to Productivity: Remittances, Migrant Organizations, and Development in Mexico" and "US-Mexico Binational Indigenous Migration", as well as a report on Mexican and Uniteds States Civil Society (in Spanish), a presentation from the Institute for Mexicans Abroad with supplemental data, and photos below from the meetings and from a site visit to Bii Dauu, a Zapotec cooperative using traditional organic methods to create handmade rugs.
