Hispanics in Philanthropy launched its 25th Anniversary celebration and introduced our Nuestros Hijos/Our Children initiative at HIP's Annual Membership Meeting held on May 4th in National Harbor, MD. The event featured Margarita Zavala, the Wife of the President of Mexico and Gara LaMarche, President of Atlantic Philanthropies. As human rights leaders, Ms. Zavala and Mr. LaMarche shared their perspectives on the plight of migrant children to an audience of more than 140 people including dignitaries and other representatives from Mexico, local, national and transnational funding partners, and leading Latino nonprofits. Special appearances were also made by Luis Ubinas, President of the Ford Foundation, and Luz Vega-Marquis, President of the Marguerite Casey Foundation.
