New York Funders' Collaborative Grantees Convene to Discuss Project Outcomes

As part of the Funders' Collaborative for Strong Latino Communities, HIP periodically convenes its grantees at a local level for peer-to-peer networking and focused technical-assistance training. Since the initiative began in 2000, HIP has conducted more than 50 of these workshops across the country, on topics ranging from "Working with Consultants" to "Individual Donor Development."

On November 20th, 25 Board and staff members of New York-area nonprofits met to discuss outcomes of the local Funders’ Collaborative and to plan for the future of the initiative. Elsa Ríos of Community Impact Consulting (www.communityimpactconsulting.org) conducted a training on “Effective Board Leadership” that provided hands-on tools and best practices for Executive Directors in working with Boards, and for Board members in more effectively carrying out their responsibilities.

The convening was hosted by the Edwin Gould Foundation at its new Wall Street offices, where the HIP Northeast Regional Office is also housed. Our thanks to Helen Dorado-Alessi and the Foundation for hosting.
