Linda Fitzgerald is Hispanics in Philanthropy’s Director of Transnational Programs. Before joining HIP in 2006, Linda was Deputy Director of the Community Partners Program at the John S. and James L. Knight Foundation in Miami. In this role, she was responsible for working with the director on management and oversight of the Foundation’s largest grant making program, which encompassed grants in 26 U.S. communities. In addition, Linda developed and managed grant portfolios in several communities across the country.
A seasoned funder and a veteran of both the corporate and philanthropic sectors, Linda has lived in Brazil, where she worked for a Maryland-based consulting firm specializing in international economic development; in this position, she was a member of an international team of consultants based in Rio de Janeiro that developed and serviced contracts for market research and program design of business development services projects in Brazil, Argentina, Ecuador and Bolivia. Linda also served as a writer and a researcher for the consulting firm, and developed course materials and instructive manuals for use in workshops. Linda received her master’s degree in International Marketing from the University of Maryland and a bachelor’s degree in economics from George Washington University. In addition to living in Brazil, Linda also has lived in Costa Rica. She is now based in Miami.
