Prior to joining HIP, Hopie worked as a psychoeducational consultant and a teacher. She is currently on the Board of Visitors of Trinity College at Duke University . She has been active in the Parent Committees of the Groton School , Phillips Exeter Academy, The Buckley School and Chapin where she assisted with the parent fundraising efforts. She also served on the Advisory Board of The Harbor for Boys and Girls, New York, for over ten years.
Hopie received her B.A. and her M.Ed in Guidance and Counseling from the University of Miami. She is fluent in Spanish and French and has working knowledge of Italian. She moved to the San Francisco area six years ago from New York City. Hopie enjoys exploring the city and spending time with her family and friends.
