Patricia Yánez is the Program Coordinator for the Mid-Atlantic Region for Hispanics in Philanthropy (HIP). Previously, Patricia worked as the Director of Development of Immaculate Conception School, serving the local minority student population by securing financial and community support through grant-writing and marketing campaigns, allowing the students access to an affordable, safe and inclusive education. Prior to this, she worked her way through college, spending her summers and holidays at the global law firm of Mayer Brown LLP, collaborating in the creation and development of diversity programs, including partnering with PRLDEF, (the Puerto Rican Legal Defense & Education Fund), to create programs aimed at increasing the number of Latino lawyers. She also spent a summer fundraising for the Human Rights Campaign as a Field Manager.
Patricia graduated cum laude from the State University of New York at Binghamton with a Bachelor of Arts degree. Patricia also serves as a weekly volunteer for the Queens Child Advocacy Center/Safe Horizon. She is of Dominican and Ecuadorian heritage and currently lives in Astoria, Queens.
