Membership Has Its Benefits

"HIP Membership has enabled me to broaden my reach into communities and to utilize resources I didn't know about before.  As a funder, it has been great to associate with and learn from folks with such a depth of understanding about philanthropy and Latino communities."

-Larry Gonzales
The California Endowment

Founded in 1983, HIP has developed into a transnational membership network of grantmakers whose mission is to increase resources for the Latino and Latin American civil sector and to increase Latino participation and leadership throughout the field of philanthropy.

Our ability to fulfill this mission lies in the strength of our member network.  Together, HIP members encourage the philanthropic sector to increase its investments in Latino-led nonprofits and Latin America.  Whether foundations, grantmaking officers, or individual philanthropists, our members share a passion for diversity, a commitment to social and economic justice, and an understanding that progress requires partnership.

As a membership organization, HIP seeks to raise awareness among funders about the needs of the Latino community.  To this end, we sponsor regional, national and international conferences and briefings, research and publications, professional development programs, as well as providing referrals for foundations seeking Latino staff and trustees.

HIP members bring innovation and an informed multi-cultural perspective to philanthropy. Extending across the Americas, our membership network is comprised of more than 550 grantmakers committed to creating vibrant, healthy Latino communities by investing in Latino leaders and by increasing resources for the Latino civil sector.

We invite you to become a member of this dynamic network!
