Special Grantmaker Screening & Discussion: "Farmingville" at the Community Foundations Conference
Sunday, September 18, 2005
6:00 - 9:30 p.m.
Room 602-604, 6th Floor
Washington State Convention & Trade Center, Seattle

Fee: $35 - RSVP by September 13

Join grantmaker colleagues for a special dinner, screening and discussion of "Farmingville", a compelling documentary film by Carlos Sandoval and Catherine Tambini, which explores the complex issues of immigrant day laborers in a suburban New York town. Residents become angry about the rapidly growing numbers of men seeking work on street corners, while day laborer immigrants are targeted and fear for their safety as they try to earn a living.

After the screening, meet Carlos Sandoval, Catherine Tambini and other special guests to discuss the film and how it has been used to stimulate community dialog elsewhere around the country.

This event takes place during the Council on Foundations Fall Conference for Community Foundations (see: www.cof.org) as part of the COF Film & VideoFestival, and is co-sponsored by Hispanics in Philanthropy, the Council on Foundations, Grantmakers in Film and Electronic Media and Neighborhood Funders Group.

Conference registration is not required, however attendance is limited to funders, and preregistration ($35 fee) is required by September 13. Contact: Evelyn Gibson at gibse@cof.org or 202-467-0471.
