The Rosenberg Foundation, a private foundation established in 1935 and headquartered in San Francisco, awards grants to improve public policy promoting the economic security of working families and the civic integration of immigrants and minorities in California.

Benjamin Todd Jealous came to the Rosenberg Foundation from Amnesty I nternational, where he directed its US Domestic Human Rights Program.  Before that he served as Executive Director of the National Newspaper Publishers Association—a federation of more than 200 black community newspapers in 38 states.  He also has served as program director for the National Coalition to Abolish the Death Penalty and a community organizer on civil rights lawsuits in Mississippi and New York. Mr. Jealous holds a bachelor’s degree from Columbia University and a master’s degree from Oxford University where he was a Rhodes Scholar.
