Hispanics in Philanthropy South Florida Funders’ Collaborative grantee the King David Foundation, Inc. was chosen to represent the State of Florida in the Seventh Annual National Leadership Conference of the Underage Drinking Enforcement Training Center, August 24-26, in Baltimore.  The Conference will highlight underage drinking prevention efforts for those who are new, as well as those who are more advanced in their efforts under the theme of “Charting the Course: Promoting Innovation through Action”. Plenary sessions and workshops will offer guidance for the new innovator and the more advanced practitioner on how to establish, maintain and strengthen linkages between law enforcement and community agencies, including adult allies and youth, in an effort to prevent underage drinking and its inevitable consequences.

King David Foundation is a multi-service community-based organizations which provides family related services to address unemployment, homelessness, violence, child abuse, lack of adequate healthcare services, drugs and substance abuse, HIV/AIDS and other issues that affect the Latin American community in South Florida.  Through the HIP South Florida Funders’ Collaborative for Strong Latino Communities they received a 2-year, $40,000 capacity building grant for resource development/fundraising, strategic planning and technology development.
