HIP Completes Fourth Round of Grants in Philadelphia

PHILADELPHIA, PN - June, 2006 - The eleven funders of The Philadelphia Site of the Funders' Collaborative,  (The Claneil Foundation, The Connelly Foundation, Weinstein, Schleifer & Kupersmith, The Samuel S. Fels Fund, The Knight Foundaton, IBM, PECO, The Pew Charitable Trusts, The Philadelphia Foundation, The United Way of SE PA, and The William Penn Foundation)  have just completed their fourth round of grantmaking. 

The Funders' Collaborative awarded $362,120 in grants to twenty-five organizations, including a special grant to support a collaborative effort of non profit leaders.  The grant will help to raise the collective capacity of Latino non profits in communicating the strengths as well as needs of the community, and in advocating on the Latino community's behalf to the public and policy makers.  The recipients of the grants will convene for the first time on June 26, 2006.
