How to Effectively Evaluate Advocacy

Advocacy is complex, non-linear, and opportunistic, making evaluating it challenging—though not impossible.

In April, HIP partnered up with the philanthropic consultancy Arabella Advisors to provide a webinar on how to account for advocacy’s dynamic complexity in designing and executing evaluations that yield actionable insights.

Julie Slay, Arabella’s Evaluation Practice lead, and Loren McArthur, Director at Arabella and former deputy director of civic engagement at the National Council of La Raza (NCLR), shared their perspectives on evaluating advocacy from both the outside and inside of an organization.
