Judge Kavanaugh’s SCOTUS Nomination

Judge Brett Kavanaugh, the current nominee for the U.S. Supreme Court, has a judicial record that concerns advocacy organizations around the country. His record includes rulings that would be dangerous for marginalized communities, including women, immigrants, LGBTQI, and people of color. Additionally, Judge Kavanaugh stands accused by multiple women of sexual assault. For HIP, an organization that is fighting for the rights and protections of women across the Americas, these accusations cannot be taken lightly.

Many of HIP’s partners and allies, including National Hispanic Leadership Agenda and the YWCA USA, consider Judge Brett Kavanaugh’s nomination to represent a significant threat to Latino civil rights and gender equity. Furthermore, his confirmation to the Supreme Court should not continue without a proper investigation into the multiple, and very serious, allegations of sexual harassment and assault that have been made against him.
